THE TRUTH AND EXPERIENCE OF GOD’S SALVATION

Lesson Thirty Four

THE NEED TO BE BAPTIZED

To Be Delivered Out Of Satan’s Kingdom and Transferred Into God’s Kingdom (2)

V.  The Need to be Baptized

B.  To be delivered out of Satan’s kingdom and transferred into the kingdom of God – John 3:5; Col. 1:13

3.   The world crucified the Lord Jesus – 1 Cor. 2:8

4.   The world is an enemy to God

Burden to Impart:

Baptism transfers us out of Satan’s kingdom (the world) and into God’s kingdom. The world is a terrible place because the world crucified our Lord. We can be transferred out of this terrible place and into a most wonderful place: God’s kingdom. While we are in the world, we are in the place of God’s enemy. We should give ourselves not to love the world, but to love the Lord. To practically do this, we should be baptized.

Memory Verse: “Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)

Facts to Teach:

1.      As believers who love God, we have to realize that the world is God’s enemy, and “…whoever determines to be a friend of the world is constituted an enemy of God” (James 4:4).

2.      We should not love the world: “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him;” (1 John 2:15). To think we can love the world and love the Father is a mistake.

3.      The “world” is an order, a set form, an orderly arrangement, hence, an ordered system set up by Satan, the adversary of God.

4.      God created man to live on the earth for the fulfillment of His purpose. But His enemy, Satan, in order to usurp the God-created man, formed an anti-God world system on this earth by systematizing men with religion, culture, education, industry, commerce, entertainment, etc., through men's fallen nature, in their lusts, pleasures, and pursuits, and even in their indulgence in necessities for their living, such as food, clothing, housing, and transportation. All these things are part of the world.

5.      The whole of such a satanic system lies in the evil one (1 John 5:19). When we are baptized, we are transferred out of the world (Satan’s kingdom) and transferred into God’s kingdom. The young people should be encouraged to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and to not love the world.

6.      Not loving such a world is the ground for overcoming the evil one. Loving it just a little gives the evil one the ground to defeat and occupy us.

7.      The world is powerful, but the Lord is much greater and stronger: Don’t think you can’t overcome the world. “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Baptism delivers you out of the world and gives you a strong standing against the world.
